Food Companies and Food Products

This list contains food companies and food products that provide allergy friendly foods such as peanut-free, dairy-free, etc.  This list is not exhaustive so if you are aware of an allergy friendly product share the information with our Group.

Avalon Dairy
Local B.C. company who offer conventional and organic dairy products.  Their ice cream products are now produced in a peanut and nut-free facility.

 

Blue Diamond Almonds
This company produces a variety of almond products.  Their almond butter is made in a peanut-free facility and it is noted on the packaging.  For those allergic to peanuts but not to almonds or other tree nuts, this may be an alternative to peanut butter.  Consult the company website for further information or contact them directly to confirm which of their products are considered peanut-free.

Chapman’s Ice Cream

This Canadian company manufactures ice cream, ice cream bars and popsicles as well as some yogurt creations.  Some of their products are made in a dedicated peanut and nut-free facility.  They also offer some products that are gluten-free or lactose-free.

Cherrybrook Kitchen

This company manufactures on dessert mixes and cookies.  They have products that are dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free, wheat-free and gluten-free.  Unfortunately, they do not ship to Canada.  However, if in the US you can purchase there.

This company specializes in peanut and nut-free Belgian chocolate products for fundraising.

Dare Foods

This Canadian company manufactures a variety of cookies, crackers, candy, fruit snacks and fine breads.  Many of their products are produced in a peanut and nut-free facility.  This company has demonstrated good labeling practices for allergens.  Their peanut and nut-free products geared toward children display a peanut-free symbol on the packaging.  Their peanut and nut-free products geared towards adults don’t always have the peanut-free symbol but will be clearly labeled as being produced in a dedicated peanut and nut-free facility.  Always read every label, every time.

Divvies

This company is well known for its allergy-friendly products.  It was started by Mark and Lori Sandler, whose youngest son has multiple food allergies.  Although based in the US, they do ship to Canada.

 

E.D. Smith
This company produces jams and spreads, pie fillings and syrups.
The company has listed on their website the following:
"Our quality commitment includes minimizing the risk of an allergic reaction to E.D. SMITH Brands.  We do this by ensuring that our foods are free of peanuts, shellfish and tree nuts (coconut excepted), and that sulphite additives remain less than 10 parts per million.  Every E.D. SMITH Brand includes a detailed list of ingredients on the label."

 

Kerr Bros. Ltd (Kerr's Candies)
This Canadian company manfuactures candies and confections.  Many of their 'hard' candies are manufactured in their peanut and nut-free facility.  Their 'soft' candies are made in a separate facility and are not peanut/nut-free.  Read every label.  Most of their candies are also gluten-free.

 

Kinder Surprise
According to their website, these chocolate/candy items tailored to children are manufactured in a peanut and nut-free facility ONLY in Canada.  The ones manufactured elsewhere are NOT.  Be sure to read every label every time.
